If (but I can explain) is the final, not definitive formula of a research that Silvia Celeste Calcagno has conducted in the last year, gradually recording the variation of her existential condition and reifying it in a room, interior even before it whose composition contributed different media in continuous dialogue between them. It is a suspension situation, evoked by the Just lily installation, composed of over a thousand stoneware slabs arranged on the walls of the Project Room in a continuum that combines photos, objects of use, fragments of everyday life, traces of a recent past, pieces of walls, precisely or only evoked portraits, with sharp or blurred outlines. A meticulous catalog of situations that re-propose his life in a place that will soon have to abandon, customary moments that become unique. In the background, the sound installation Could you please stop talking? Inspired by a book by Raymond Carver, as in a mantra it enumerates everyday passages and invites to silence the other person who shares the space of life. At the entrance, the video, Air fermé records the imperceptible flow of time in an urban landscape, marked by changing lights. The weave of the curtain through which the shooting takes place veils the contours of the world like a veil, acting as a filter on perception.
